Mereside Academy

On Wednesday our Under 11 boys competed in the ESFA schools competition at Sundorne. Our first game was against Oakmeadow who fielded a strong team. with some quality passing from Mereside we saw three excellent goals from Will Griffiths, Joe Loughnane and Will Tudor making a 3-0 win. Our next match was against Windmill (Telford), Joe Loughnane fired in a super strike from 10 yards. Windmill scored in the last minute to make it 1-1. We got through to the next round on goal difference. Harlescott proved to be a very good side. There were many good individual performances but a special mention to Tommy Lewendon for some quality saves, unfortunately we lost by 1 goal, but the fantastic team spirit augurs well for this season.
