U11 Boys Football County Plate Competition24 January 2014 (by Carol Sambrook) |
Our U11 boys football team have qualified for the Semi-Final of the County Plate Competition
Congratulations to our Under 11 boys football team who qualified for the County Plate semi-finals. Mr Carr was extremely proud of their attitude and behaviour! They demonstrated our school values well and were a credit to the school.
Match review by Joe Loughnane:
Mereside School under 11’s played in a football tournament on Wednesday 22nd January. Our first game was against Harlescott School who proved to be a good side and both teams had chances but it ended 0-0.
Our second game was against Mount Pleasant. We played well, as did the other team, but we took our chances and won 2-0 with goals from Dan Blower and Will Tudor.
In the final match against Redhill, we could not afford to lose. They were a good side. All of our players put their bodies on the line and defended brilliantly. We managed a 0-0 draw to put us through to the semi-finals.
Man of the match(es) were Tommy Lewendon, Charlie Morris, Alex Cartwright, Joe Loughnane, Dan Blower, Ed Stanton and Will Tudor. We would also like to give a special mention to Louis Tudor for supporting us and being there if somebody got injured. Well done Louis!
Well done Boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
