Match Report for our Semi-Final matches in the U10 County Shield Football Competition16 March 2014 (by Carol Sambrook) |
Fantastic news! Mereside under 10 boys football team are through to the final of the County Shield competition.
In last week's semi-final match everyone played some awesome football. The first match was against Prees. After a couple of minutes into the game Will T smashed in our first goal for the reds - it was a cool team goal. The second match was against Meole Brace which was 0-0. We played the best we could missing a couple of chances on the bar and the post. Our third match was against St.Georges. We all played brilliantly but it was 0-0 at the end of the game which then went to penalties. Both Joe and Dan missed then the mighty Will G scored for the team. We just had to wait for St.Georges to take their penalties, but Tommy Lewendon made some fabulous saves, so we knew we had made it through. In the next match we had to win and were equal by a goal from Joe. In the last minute Dan scored from a great pass from Will T. We now go through to the final at the Greenhous Meadow on Saturday 17th May.Well done to everyone who played.
