Mereside was superbly represented by our cross country team, both in behaviour and performance, at this county school competition.
There were over 20 teams both in boys and girls with stiff competition from club runners too. One of our year 5 children came an amazing second and received a silver medal on one of the toughest courses in the series. All our runners were placed very well and we managed to achieve 5th place boys and 6th place girls overall, which was an incredible achievement with lots of dramatic passing and sprint finishes. The determination was wonderful and the sportsmanship was a true credit to the pupils and our school. Please join us in congratulating our wonderful cross country runners.
