  • Comic Relief Red Nose Day Cake Sale - Friday 24th March, 2017
    We will be holding a Red Nose Day Cake Sale at morning break to raise money for Comic Relief. Please can children from all classes donate cakes to sell; they can be homemade or bought from the shop. Each cake will cost 20p.
  • 'Ready Steady Read' Sponsored Read
    Please return all sponsor money to school by Wenesday 8th March, 2017.Children will be issued with a 'Ready Steady Read' voucher for half the value of the money they have raised.
  • Comic Relief Red Noses!
    Red noses will be on sale from Monday 6th March, 2017. They cost £1.00 each and are available from the school office.
  • 'Bug Club' Launch - Monday 30th January, 2017
    We are delighted to announce that we have invested in a wonderful reading resource called 'Bug Club' to enhance our pupils reading experiences in & out of school. We are having a launch day for Parents & Carers on Monday 30th January, 2017 @ 2.50pm.
  • Volunteers Needed!
    We require volunteer support for our KS2 Forest School sessions. If you already volunteer & could spare an additional afternoon or if you've never volunteered before & feel this is something you would enjoy, please contact the school office.
  • 'Wear it Woolly' for Age Uk - Friday 16th December, 2016
    If you are happy to donate a voluntary contribution for Age Uk, your child can come to school dressed in a fun or festive jumper with casual clothes. If you do not wish to donate please ensure your child wears full school uniform.
  • Pearl of Africa Children's Choir Tour 2016
    As part of their tour the Pearl of Africa Children's Choir visited Mereside School on Thursday 20th October, 2016. They performed to the children throughout the day & a concert to our families in the evening. We raised an amazing £606.01!
  • School Christmas Dinner - Reminder
    If you have not returned the slip to order a Christmas Dinner for Thursday 8th December, 2016 please ensure your child brings a packed lunch from home on this day. Please note there will not be a deli option or jacket potato available on this day.
  • Change to the Lunchtime Menu
    There is a change to the menu for Wednesday 7th December. The menu is: selection of fish, noodles, baby potatoes, carrots, baked beans, followed by vanilla iced sponge & custard. The deli is basil & tomato pasta or jacket potato.
  • KS2 School Choir & Hedgehogs Class Performances
    On Wednesday 7th December the children will be at Percy Throwers Garden Centre from 1.30pm performing Christmas songs. There will be another opportunity to hear them sing at St. Chad's Christmas Tree Festival on Thursday 15th December at 11.30.
